About Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian cysts – fluid filled sacs on/in an ovary – most often occur without symptoms. They’re discovered during an exam and typically resolve on their own. Our physicians recommend watchful waiting rather than immediate intervention. Often hormones and pain relief can resolve the situation. On occasion, larger cysts require medical attention.

How are Ovarian Cysts removed?

When surgical intervention is needed, minimally invasive procedures are used to remove the cyst (cystectomy). When women want to preserve their fertility, the cyst is removed without removing the ovary. In some cases, our physicians may recommend an oophorectomy – removal of the ovary.

Every woman is different. If you have been diagnosed with ovarian cysts and are looking for solutions, talk with us.
