Fistulas

What is a Fistula?

A fistula is an abnormal hole between the vagina and rectum (recto-vaginal), vagina and urethra (urethrovaginal), or vagina and the bladder (vesicovaginal).

Can fistulas be repaired?

In nearly every case, yes. For Minnesota Women’s Care patients, this recommendation may be made after a thorough physical exam and health history. If a fistula repair has been recommended by your internist or OB/GYN and you would like a second opinion, we would welcome your call.
