Many different causes may contribute to this condition, including:

How is Menorrhagia diagnosed?
In addition to a detailed medical history and physical exam, the following may be recommended:
- Blood tests
- Ultrasound
- Pap smear
- Endometrial biopsy
- Hysteroscopy
What types of treatments and surgeries may be recommended to correct Menorrhagia?
If the condition doesn’t respond to hormonal regulation (such as birth control) or NSAIDs, surgery may be recommended. This includes:
- Myomectomy (to remove fibroids or polyps)
- Endometrial ablation
- Hysteroscopy with polypectomy
- Hysterectomy
